Dear Dr. Sabrina:
I want to start by saying that I so appreciate the work you do to inform and uplift our community. I am especially delighted when I hear you say that you are a Bible Girl, as I am a Pastor. I am not only a Pastor, I am also a business man. I watch how you teach & train in the team-building, leadership, and DEI spaces. This leads me to my issue.
I was contacted by a fellow Pastor with a request for my business services. I have a landscaping company and have been in business for 30 years. I went by the property the same day of the request to create an accurate quote. As I do with all my clients, I prepared a written quote. Once he received the quote which I provided a discount (as he is a fellow Pastor), he asked for a little bit more of a discount. It was extremely offensive as I had already provided a discount. I did ask how much more of a discount was he asking for and his response was less than half off the quote.
I am just amazed that he would even ask that of me. I feel as if my skills are not being valued. I am really stumped as I do not want to lose the relationship. Please tell me should I honor the request or risk the loss of the relationship?
