STORIED Presents The HERstory Session: Jewish Women’s Contribution to Music at The Berman Center for the Performing Arts
STORIED, the acclaimed storytelling and live music series exploring Jewish collaboration and contribution to modern music, will present its newest production, The HERstory Session: Jewish Women’s Contribution to Music, on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at The Berman Center for the Performing Arts in West Bloomfield.
Spanning decades and genres, The HERstory Session spotlights Jewish women as artists, songwriters, producers, executives, managers, and cultural innovators who helped shape the soundtrack of modern music. Rather than presenting women as background figures, the production centers their leadership, creativity, and impact across the music industry.

Blending live music with storytelling in a format reminiscent of MTV Unplugged meets VH1 Storytellers, the evening will feature host Benji Rosenzweig and musical director Elise McCoy, backed by a live four-piece band. Audiences will experience stories of community, resilience, spirituality, and joy while exploring the lasting influence of Jewish women in music.
At a moment when Jewish identity is often framed through loss or trauma, Storied is intentionally centered on joy, pride, and contribution,” said Rosenzweig. “The HERstory Session applies that philosophy specifically to Jewish women. These are stories of leadership, creativity, and impact that deserve to be seen clearly and celebrated loudly.”

Storied is a Jewish education and empowerment movement that uses live concerts, podcasts, and classroom learning to highlight Jewish contribution to modern music. Co-created by The J Detroit and Benji Rosenzweig, the series has earned praise for its sold-out performances exploring The Beatles, grunge, reggae, and more.
