Filthy Cares, a Detroit-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth and families through mentorship, music, art, entrepreneurship, and community giving, will host The Filthy Cares Holiday Kickoff at Shinola Canfield to launch its 7th Annual Adopt-A-Block Christmas Giveaway.

Guests will enjoy food, drinks, and live music by The Electrifyin’ Filthy Rockwell while experiencing a multimedia presentation of photos and videos showcasing Filthy Cares’ community impact over the years. A photographer and videographer will be onsite to capture the evening’s celebration of giving and goodwill.

During the event, Shinola will donate 20% of all purchases to Filthy Cares. A donation box will also be placed at the Canfield location from November 5 through December 20, 2025, collecting brand-new toys for children of all ages and genders.

In addition, all Shinola leather goods and journals purchased during the event can be custom-embossed with “Whatupdoe.”

Mission and Impact
For seven years, Filthy Cares’ Adopt-A-Block Christmas Giveaway has spread holiday joy to over 3,000 Detroit families, delivering wrapped gifts, food, and household essentials. In 2025, the organization aims to reach 5,000 families—doubling its impact and extending hope throughout Detroit neighborhoods.
