
She’s intelligent, poised, personable and gorgeous. Entertainment show host and producer Shaun Robinson has enjoyed a stellar career, meeting and interviewing numerous actors and other entertainers at Red Carpet awards events. Born and raised in Detroit and a proud graduate of Cass Technical High School, she earned her college degree from the prestigious Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. She is best recognized for serving for 16 years as host of the Emmy Award winning show, Access Hollywood. Shaun’s talents behind the camera are equally impressive. She has produced five movies for the Lifetime channel and collaborated with T.D. Jakes Productions. Shaun also hosted the show, 90-day Fiancé, Tell-All Reunion, which is shown in over 214 countries and territories. During a recent trip back to Detroit, I had the pleasure of chatting with Shaun about her career and more.
Q: When was the first time you worked on television?
A: My first time on TV was at a local Atlanta Cable station. It was a talk show called “Open Studio.” I interviewed guests about local issues.
Q: When did you decide that moving to Los Angeles was a good idea for your career?
A: I have lived in eight cities, moving around for my career. I came to L.A. in 1999 to accept a weekend host job at Access Hollywood. It was not my first job in television. I worked in five markets including Detroit where I worked as a reporter, anchor and talk show host at WGPR-TV channel 62.
Q: Is it easy or difficult to make true friends in Hollywood?
A: I have a wonderful friend group in Los Angeles. I have been blessed.

Q: What is your career status as an on-air talent and producer?
A: I host the show, 90-day fiancé, Tell-All Reunion
Q: Who are some of your favorite actors and stars that you have interviewed, or are friends with?
A: Viola Davis, The Rock, Kevin Hart, and my dear friend Prince
Q: What is the hardest part, and the most rewarding part of Hollywood life and show business?
A: The most challenging part of Hollywood right now is that the industry is going through many shifts. It’s much tougher to get projects on the air because many are going overseas. The best part of the industry is that it gives you a platform to do good and have positive impacts on the lives of others.
Q: Will you ever retire, or keep working as long as there are options?
A: Retirement is not even in the picture. I love what I do.
Q: What’s on your bucket list for travel, work, and personal growth?
A: I would love to go to Brazil. I was supposed to go in 2020, but we had to cancel because of the pandemic. We never rescheduled.
Q: You are very health conscious and often post your meals online. What are your favorite foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
A: For breakfast, avocado toast is my favorite. Something like chicken salad for lunch is good. For dinner I love salmon, broccoli, and wild rice.
Q: You manage to maintain a very fit figure, so do you have a specific exercise routine?
A: I’m generally pretty lean, however I do go to the gym 3 to 4 times a week. I do cardio and lift weights.
Q: When you come home to Detroit what do you like to do?
A: I always hang out with my family and childhood friends; we try to get together for dinner.
Q: Name your favorite book, movie, colors, and music
A: I have to say that my favorite book is the one I wrote, Exactly as I am - Celebrated Women Share Candid Advice with Today’s Girls om What it Takes to Believe in Yourself. It is the collected wisdom of celebrity women and everyday teenagers helping girls believe in themselves and to dream big.
Q: Do you own a pet?
A: No, not now. I had a beautiful Maltese named Snowflake for 16 years. Now, I just travel too much to have a pet.
Q: Are you single, engaged, partnered, or married?
A: I am HAPPY!
