Dear Dr. Sabrina:
I have been raised in a family of all ministers. I have been in the church all my life. My father is a Pastor and has really ascribed so much for the church. We were in church almost daily and my father missed out on a lot during my school age years. I can remember being so devastated that I was playing in a statewide football championship and he missed it.
I love my father and my church, however they are pressuring me to do more in ministry. I do feel a call on my life however it is NOT for the church.
I love acting and have taken classes, tried out for casting calls, and have finally obtained my SAG (Screen Actors Guild)
Card. I am super excited about my future yet my family is pressing me to do more in the church which will take me away from my dream. Some of the older saints in my church have told me if I do not step up I will be not only disappointing my dad but God….I feel so torn. Please help me as I do not want to hurt anyone.
