Dear Dr Sabrina,

I truly need your help. I have been friends with whom I consider my lifelong friend. We have been friends since elementary school. When I tell you she has been in every part of my life…good & bad. We have raised our children together with our children even being very close.

Well, there has been a shift and I am struggling. She has been married for 45 years and I have supported her all the way (even when I didn’t agree). I have met a wonderful younger man. We have clicked since we first met. Let me say , I was apprehensive at the beginning however it has been two years and we are happy. He is 12 years younger than me. My children love him and my church family. The only one who does not like him is my lifelong friend.

He has asked to marry me and I have said YES!!!!! My girlfriend is behaving so mean. She told me I am being foolish that he is going to hurt me. She is not even cordial when he is with me. She has refused to help me with the wedding and said she will not attend. I am so hurt by her and want to know should I attempt to change her mind before my destination wedding in November?

Sincerely
Don’t Want to Lose My Friend

Should this should lady attempt to change her friend's mind before her destination wedding in November?
