Celebrate the opening day of Heroes vs. Villains: Detroit's Comic Book Story! Saturday, May 3rd 12noon - 5:00pm. Discover Detroit’s contribution to the world of comic books and the generations of local creatives and fans that brought the world of comics to a wider audience and created fandom as we know it today.
While Detroit’s contribution to the world of comic books is often overlooked, generations of local creatives and fans brought the world of comics to a wider audience and created fandom as we know it today. From superheroes and antiheroes to awkward yetis and bear riding cowboys, Detroit writers and artists have created new worlds and shared stories in familiar ones through comic books and their characters.
Heroes vs. Villains: Detroit’s Comic Book Story will share the contributions and impact of local creatives on the world of superheroes, fandom, and comics.
The exhibition is included with museum admission and opens to the public at noon. Find it on the lower level in Wrigley Hall: detroithistorical.org.
