By Mikey Eckstein

In the ever-expanding Detroit hip-hop landscape, new talent emerges almost daily—but few make the kind of noise that Clare Siobhan has in such a short time. The Dearborn native blends raw authenticity with undeniable charisma, effortlessly bridging the gap between the streetwise grit of Detroit rap and her own refreshingly unique style. With collaborations already under her belt from some of the city’s most respected names, Clare is gearing up for what could be a breakout year.

We sat down with Clare to talk about her influences, dream collaborations, favorite eats, and what fans can expect from her upcoming show at The Crofoot.

What up Doe Clare? What’s the first song or video that really took your status way up?
Savage featuring Taylor Bentley. That song really established me as an artist. It was already good, but she took it to the next level. We met in the studio at Get Fresh, had instant chemistry, and it’s been on the floor since.

Who are five of your favorite Detroit artists?
Kash Doll (obviously), Sada, Ray, and Vezzo. I used to rewrite Ray’s songs with the same pattern but my own lyrics just to learn the flow.

Favorite Detroit or Metro Detroit restaurants?
Sedona Taphouse, Pizza Cat, and Ottava Via. Pizza Cat lets me put green olives and pickles on my pizza. And at Sedona? The bourbon glazed salmon with truffle fries—game changer.

Would you rather record or perform live?
Either. I’m almost always in the mood to hop on the mic, but I’m especially excited to drop music and perform some unreleased tracks soon.

How did your relationship with Helluva come about?
I started working with Pistol Atkins in summer 2023. He introduced me to Helluva, and our first songs—White Girls and Kash Doll—came out crazy. We’ve been locked in ever since.

Dream collabs?
Producer-wise, I’m sticking with Helluva. Artist-wise? Lil Yachty, Roddy Rich, Shenseea… and Taylor Swift. I want Taylor on a Helluva beat.

Three favorite movies?
The Parent Trap, Argo, and 13 Going on 30.

Most memorable performance so far?
I used to pay my own money to see the same artists I’ve now shared the stage with—and even headlined shows with. Those are full circle moments that feel surreal.

Last three songs you played?
D to the A, A Million Cash Race, and Versatile.

Your August 15th show at The Crofoot with Sada Baby, Ashwin Gane, Courtney Bell, DSAV, and Coco—hosted by Polo Frost and Nat XoXo—what can people expect?
I’m going to enjoy myself and watch the other artists. I used to go to shows at The Crofoot before I started rapping, so performing there feels special. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
