Black Leaders Detroit is excited to announce two dynamic Juneteenth events aimed at celebrating freedom, fostering economic empowerment, and uplifting Black entrepreneurs in Detroit.
On Friday, June 20, 2025, we are hosting Liberation Link Up—an upscale networking event in partnership with Juneteenth Jubilee Detroit, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Lambda Pi Omega chapter and Bullish Institute of Financial Literacy. Entrepreneurs, professionals, and community leaders will come together for a night of live music, VIP experiences, and an innovative grant competition that will award $6,000 to Detroit-based entrepreneurs of African descent, decided by the attendees themselves.
Then, on Saturday, June 21, 2025, we continue the celebration with Juneteenth Jubilee Detroit at Robert C. Valade Park. In collaboration with the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, this family-friendly event will feature a Liberation Run, health and community fairs, live performances, mindfulness zones, and historical storytelling honoring Detroit’s role in Black liberation.
“Liberation Link Up is more than just a celebration—it is a tool for economic justice, stated Dwan Dandridge CEO, Black Leaders Detroit. “We are putting resources directly in the hands of Black entrepreneurs and nonprofits, and we are letting the community decide who receives them. That is what self-determined liberation looks like.”
Both events celebrate, activate, and educate by fostering community engagement and supporting Detroit's Black-owned businesses and nonprofits.
