My name is Antisia King, and I’m asking for your support as I run for Police Commissioner of District 5.
Born and raised in the heart of Detroit, I've always had a deep connection with this city and its people. Over the years, I’ve been actively involved in the community — assisting with numerous campaigns, supporting our youth, and advocating for our senior citizens. Through this work, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges our neighbors face.
But instead of just talking about the issues, I began to ask myself: why not be part of the solution? That question sparked a deeper sense of responsibility in me. I realized that my passion, time, and dedication could be put to better use by stepping into a role where I could make a real difference. That’s why I made the decision to run for Police Commissioner — to be a voice for the people and to help build a safer, more just Detroit for everyone.
WHY I'M RUNNING
One Saturday evening, my son and I were leaving a restaurant in Greektown when we happened to witness an angry police officer abusing his power against a man. I thought to myself, who protects us when it's the police we need protection from? I looked at my son and said, if anything like that ever happens, I must be the one to protect you. The brutal attack stayed in my mind. That moment changed everything. I knew then I had to step forward and lead — not just talk about the change but be the change. We need a police department that’s accountable, responsive, and community driven. And I’m ready to make that happen.
MY PLATFORM
As your next Police Commissioner, here’s what I will fight for:
✅ Faster Emergency Response
No one should wait 30 minutes in a crisis. I will work to ensure police respond to emergencies in a reasonable time citywide.
✅ Reorganize Patrols to Protect Seniors & Youth
I will advocate for strategic patrol shifts in high-risk areas, particularly around schools and senior communities. A visible presence is a powerful deterrent.
✅ Enforce Ethics and Accountability
Officers must treat every resident with dignity and respect. I will push for disciplinary review and retraining for any officer who violates the public’s trust.
✅ Adopt a Balanced Budget
Detroiters deserve to know how their tax dollars are spent. I will work to ensure the DPD budget is transparent and truly serves the people.

I’m a mother, a business owner, and a lifelong Detroiter. I understand the daily challenges our communities face. And I’m willing to put the work in to uplift our neighborhoods through real solutions, not empty promises.
