There comes a point in life when some people decide they no longer want to simply work for a paycheck. They want purpose. They want passion. They want to build something that truly impacts people. For Anthony Cook that moment came after nearly three decades in the world of Supply Chain and Logistics when he made the courageous decision to walk away from corporate America and fully embrace a completely different path rooted in creativity connection and community.

At 49 years old Anthony Cook has become one of the driving creative forces behind Detroit Tuft an interactive tufting and textile art studio that is quickly becoming one of Detroit’s most unique creative experiences. What Anthony and his wife and business partner Brandy Cook have built is far bigger than an art studio. It is an atmosphere. It is a feeling. It is a place where people are encouraged to relax express themselves and reconnect with their creativity in a way many have not experienced in years.

Anthony’s journey into the world of art was not traditional which makes his story even more inspiring. After spending 27 successful years building a career in corporate America he chose in November 2023 to bet on himself and pursue the passion that had been calling him toward something greater. What initially began as creating custom tufted pieces for clients quickly evolved into something much more meaningful once Anthony realized the true joy was not only in creating art but in teaching others how to discover their own creativity.

That discovery became the foundation of Detroit Tuft.

Together Anthony and Brandy created an experience unlike anything else in the city by blending tufting art music karaoke dancing relaxation and genuine human interaction into one unforgettable environment. Guests are not simply customers walking into a business. They become part of an experience intentionally designed to make them feel inspired appreciated and connected.

In a time when so many businesses have lost the personal touch Anthony believes customer service itself is an art form. That philosophy can be felt the moment people walk through the doors of Detroit Tuft. Every interaction every session and every detail is built around making guests feel like they received something far greater than what they paid for.

That commitment to people has become one of the biggest reasons Detroit Tuft continues gaining attention throughout the city.

Anthony’s vision also extends far beyond entertainment. He understands the power creativity can have on confidence focus and self expression especially for young people. Through the Detroit Public Schools Community District GOAL Line after school program Anthony mentors students from third through eighth grade by teaching them the art of tufting while encouraging discipline imagination and confidence. For many students the experience becomes more than learning a craft. It becomes an outlet and a source of inspiration.

Anthony’s ability to connect with both adults and youth speaks directly to the heart of who he is. Whether hosting immersive date nights corporate events or mentoring children he approaches every experience with authenticity passion and purpose.
