The Horatio Williams Foundation Celebrates 10 Years of Its Annual Tuxedo Giveaway

There are certain moments in a young person’s life that stay with them forever. Prom is one of those moments. It is more than a dance or a celebration with friends. It is a milestone. A night that represents growth accomplishment and the transition into adulthood.

The Horatio Williams Foundation once again made sure deserving young men across Metro Detroit were able to experience that moment with confidence pride and dignity.

In partnership with the Gilbert Family Foundation Comerica and The SONshine Project the organization hosted its 10th Annual Tuxedo Giveaway continuing a decade long tradition of giving back to students who may not otherwise have had the opportunity to attend prom fully prepared and properly dressed for the occasion.

For many of these students the experience was about being seen valued and supported by their community. It was a reminder that people believe in them and want to see them succeed.

That is what has made the Horatio Williams Foundation such an important presence in Detroit. Year after year the organization continues to invest directly into young people through programs rooted in compassion opportunity and dignity.
