Todd’s Menswear and Baron’s Wholesale Clothiers turn September suit celebration into support for veterans and Friendship Circle
September is SUITember, the annual celebration of men’s suits created to remind men of the confidence, professionalism and personal style that can come with the right fit. This year, David Elkus, owner of Todd’s Menswear and Baron’s Wholesale Clothiers, is adding an important community component by using SUITember to support Vets Returning Home and Friendship Circle.
TODD’S MENSWEAR: TRADE IN, TRADE UP FOR VETERANS
Throughout SUITember, Todd’s Menswear in Royal Oak is partnering with Vets Returning Home for its Trade In, Trade Up program.
Customers are encouraged to bring in a gently used suit that can be given to a veteran in need. In return, customers receive an instant rebate toward the purchase of a new suit:
- New suit under $149.99 — $20 rebate
- $150–$199.99 — $35 rebate
- Over $200 — $50 rebate
Donated suits will benefit Vets Returning Home, which assists veterans experiencing homelessness and other challenges as they work toward greater stability and independence. Professional clothing can be especially important for veterans preparing for job interviews, employment opportunities and a new chapter in their lives.

If we can take a suit that someone is no longer wearing and put it in the hands of a veteran who can truly benefit from it, that is what SUITember should be about.”
BARON’S WHOLESALE CLOTHIERS CONTINUES TO SUPPORT FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE
Baron’s Wholesale Clothiers is also celebrating SUITember by supporting Friendship Circle, a nonprofit providing social, recreational, educational and vocational programming for individuals with special needs and their families.
Customers who mention Friendship Circle when making a qualifying purchase at Baron’s can have 10% of the purchase proceeds donated to Friendship Circle.
“Friendship Circle has created a community where individuals with special needs are given opportunities to participate, build friendships, learn skills and feel included,” Elkus said. “That mission is incredibly important. Supporting Friendship Circle through SUITember gives our customers an opportunity to purchase something they need while also helping an organization that makes a meaningful difference for thousands of families.”
Elkus added that supporting both organizations reflects the larger message behind this year’s campaign.
