As the debate goes on about whether or not you should get vaccinated, there are things we should all be doing to stay healthy.

Herbs have proven to be a great way to strengthen your immune system and I have put together a list of herbs that can protect you.

These herbs are readily available and safe to take, but of course, you should consult your physician before starting any new regimen.

Let’s start off with Elderberry Syrup
For centuries, elderberries have been used to support wellness. The ancient Greek physician Hippocrates was particularly fond of the tiny berry. North American, European, Asian, and African cultures have all dabbled in elderberry usage, and researchers have even uncovered evidence that suggests prehistoric peoples cultivated the berries.

The tiny berry acts as an antioxidant, combatting free radical damage and supporting the immune system. Free radicals are often a byproduct of converting food to energy, but can also come from environmental factors.

Oregano Oil
As an herbal supplement, oil of oregano is known for its antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. It contains several potentially healing compounds, such as:
- carvacrol
- thymol
- terpinene

People have traditionally used oil of oregano for respiratory health. It’s also become a popular alternative remedy for cold and flu symptoms.

Oregano oil is used to treat cold and flu symptoms, but it can be consumed in different forms depending on your preference. It can be purchased as an herbal supplement, tincture, or essential oil.

Sundrate
To improve your immunity overall it is best to get as much sun as you can. Your body creates a hormone called melatonin that is critical to helping you sleep. Because your body starts producing it when it’s dark, you usually start to feel sleepy two hours after the sun sets, which is one of the reasons our bodies naturally stay up later in the summer. Melatonin is also vital for stress levels, and helps fight depression too. Absorbing lots Vitamin D helps your body maintain calcium and prevents brittle, thin, or misshapen bones. Sundrating while it boosts your immune system also lowers your blood pressure, and has been proven to reduce the rate of some Cancers.

Stay Hydrated
The body is made up over 70% of water and hydrating promotes cardiovascular health, increases energy and brain function, helps joints and muscles function correctly, and cleanses the body. Being hydrated is essential for the body, and is the reason for oxygen flow. Drinking plenty of water daily is needed and I recommend alkaline or spring water.
