On August 13, 2022 the Detroit Polo Classic is coming to the city of Detroit. Parent Park will host this illustrious event.

Polo has been called "the sport of kings" and has become a spectator sport for equestrians and high society.

The concept of the game and it's variants date back from the 6th century BC to the 1st century AD and originated from equestrian games played by nomadic Iranian and Turkic people.

The sport was at first a training game for Persian cavalry units, usually the royal guard or other elite troops.

“A Polo Match is the perfect way to spend a summer day, there’s lot of beautiful people wearing beautiful clothes all having a great time.” Demetrius Carrington founder of the Detroit Polo Classic.

Paul Corvino Regional President iHeartMedia stated, “I could have lived anywhere in the country but I chose Detroit. I want to be a part of the city’s return to prominence and events like this are a major part of what makes a city great. I’m very excited to support the Detroit Polo Classic.”

“I’ve seen Demetrius and his team work very hard to make this a reality and think these kind of events are exactly what this city needs” says Adrian Tonon.
