Having styled countless celebrities such as artist Afro B, Musiq SoulChild, Amara La Negra, producer/ TV personality Stevie J, Jim Jones, Rah Digga, Mariah Lynn, and WBLS Lenny Green, among others. Pilar Scratch went from living in a shelter with her son to being one of the most sought-after public figures in New York City. In 2019, Pilar was a nominee for Forbes 30 under 30. Pilar currently holds the title of a 7x award-winning celebrity wardrobe stylist, TV personality, author, momager, and editor-in-chief. Please tell us about your brand and how you’ve become the fashion/media/public relations mogul that you are today?
I commenced my career back in 2012. I had just had my son and I was looking for a means of income. I desired to spend as much time with my son, River Mason Eromosele, as possible. I commenced my career as a designer making everything from “Scratch”. Designing became vastly time-consuming so I decided on an alternative which was styling. Growing my career in entertainment my foundation merged. I began to network and build relationships with so many amazon celebrities and creatives. From then it was history.

How do you navigate motherhood in a highly demanding industry?
I literally find my equilibrium in motherhood by bringing my son with me on the journey. He’s such a vast part of my life and he’s the most important person in my life. I started his career through him being with me on set.

What were some highlights from 2022?
The best memories I have from 2022 would be being featured on Essence Magazine, going to London, filming with HBO, and traveling with my son.

What does 2023 look like for you?
2023 already looks pretty productive. I’m determined to stay focused and realign myself in my work.

What is a quote that you live by?
“Weakness is purely choice; you can never fail if you never give up”

What keeps you motivated to stick with your career?
My son keeps me motivated. I wouldn’t want my child to give up on his dreams; I owe it to him to keep going.
