It's the perfect time to celebrate Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day began to be celebrated as a day of romance around the 14th century. Although there were several Christian martyrs named Valentine, the day may have taken its name from a priest who was martyred around 270 CE by Emperor Claudius II Gothicus. Priest Valentine had a great idea—love should be celebrated! Love is incredible; it has the power to propel you to new heights. The feeling of being loved is a singular emotion, and what the world needs more than ever is love. That's why it's the perfect time to celebrate Valentine's Day, even if you're single. As a single man, I could easily overlook the day, but I'm not. I'm going to take the day and spend time with someone just to show them they are appreciated. We'll have a great dinner, share some laughs, and truly enjoy each other's company without pressure or expectations—I only want them to feel appreciated.
And if you’re in a marriage or relationship take this time to show each other how much you mean to each other. Often times we take love for granted, love is a gift and if you’re lucky enough to have true love in your life cherish it.
But don’t just stop after Valentine’s Day, use that day as the catalyst for a better you, love yourself more, love your life, your family. Love your husband or wife, your career simply spread more love. Every day we see acts of hate on the news, we hear stories of love lost it’s gotten to be our new normal, but we all know love conquers all. So, HAPPY Valentine’s Day and I love you.
